The Cyprus Police when processing personal data for law enforcement purposes (the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences, in the context of activities for the protection of public order and security, etc.), must comply with the provisions of the special Law 44(I)/2019 and not with the General Data Protection Regulation.

The Cyprus Police (Office of Legal Cooperation/DEE&DAS) has drawn up a Personal Data Protection Policy (Privacy Policy), which concerns the processing of personal data carried out by the Police.
